5203 \a Educationists in Malaysia are facing a host of challenges to further improve and refine their educational role and to mould the future generations to meet the expectation of current competitive workforce; and also to alleviate growing concern of unemployment. This study examines the perceived effects of current challenges at workplace, graduates competencies together with the necessary training and development could increase the chances of business graduates being employed. The data for this analysis was obtained utilizing convenience sampling technique on 100 respondents from employers of different organizations in Penang, Malaysia through the means of structured questionnaire survey as the measuring instrument. Descriptive, reliability, correlation and regression analysis are deployed to analyze the data to identify and rank independent variables that impact on the nature of employability. Both independent variables (graduate competencies, training and development at workplace) have revealed significant positive correlation with employability. However, current challenges at workplace have indicated no positive correlation with employability. The research findings serve as guidelines to students, graduates, colleges, Malaysia Qualifications Agency and Malaysia of Higher Education in making appropriate decisions and actions to accommodate the ever changing environment to ensure higher graduates employability. From the employers’ perspective, the findings enable them to design appropriate structured internship programme and be able to assess the intern’s (graduate’s) capabilities before recruiting them into the organization permanent establishment.
