Abstract A group of business acquaintance in Johor Bahru, Malaysia had embarked on a partnership and started to gather their resources to invest in a prospective business. Earlier, they were toying around the periphery of the business, whether to be built within a long term investment or a short term investment. This investment will be regarded as a new business item added to their pool of wealth previously acquired through other businesses as means to exercise diversify investment concept. The group of business acquaintance had finally made an eventual decision to invest in the family karaoke business and company setup called Song Music Box or SMB, in short. The discovery to start SMB business mainly was influenced by friends who are consequential hobby and leisure activity in karaoke during their spare times that turned serious. The group of acquaintance is observing the family karaoke business as one of the business that is on it going trends. They are considered it with expectations of prospective yields and long term returns from the karaoke business. Business men play a mixed game of skill and chance. As it was the temptation of the group of acquaintance to take the chance; they are regarded the karaoke business worth to develop further, to be a business that embraced huge potential to explore in. Success is belong to those who willing to try. Every successful business has a universal insight that in marketing its product to meet the need and wants of the customers. Aside the capital outlay and other necessary preparation that had kicked start SMB, and the goal of every business is to be successful and profitable one.
