|
Abstract
|
Radio frequency Identification (RFID) technology can help to improve the process
flow in value chain activities like inventory warehouse management, distribution,
logistics, safety and security, thus, leading to cost saving and improvement in
operation efficiency in the long term. Slowness in adopting this innovative
technology will affect the competitiveness and gross domestic product (GDP) growth
of Malaysia industries in the global environment. The research is carried out to
investigate and understand the factors affecting the RFID adoption among the
companies in Malaysia. The population of the study is Federal of Malaysia
Manufacturers (FMM), GS1 members and all the participants of the seminars related
to FMM and RFID held during my research time frame. This study concludes that
the environmental factors, technological factors and financial factors are positively
correlated to the RFID adoption in Malaysia. The findings from the study can be
used by the companies, governments and the RFID solutions provider to encourage
RFID adoption in Malaysia, making the industries more innovative and competitive
in this globalised environment.
