Abstract
|
In the near future, all industries including manufacturing sector will start recruiting Generation Z graduates, manufacturing organizations in Penang Malaysia foresee that they would face difficulty to motivate Generation Z to deliver high productivity and efficiency in workplace. With this research study, it will provide in-depth information about how to motivate Generation Z graduates to deliver high productivity and efficiency. Generation Z are best described as educated, tech savvy, global minded, and a multitasker. Thus, a non-experimental cross-sectional approach based on Frederick Herzberg’s Two-Factor Motivation Theory will be used in this study. Questionnaire survey method will be used as data collection instrument while descriptive and one sample t-test analysis technique as data analysis tool will be used to analyze the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors towards Generation Z’s productivity and efficiency working in manufacturing organizations in Penang Malaysia. Data analysis result shows Generation Z is satisfied with both extrinsic and intrinsic factors. They also rated both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation factor are equally important for Generation Z in manufacturing organizations in Penang Malaysia to deliver high productivity and efficiency at work. In conclusion, any manufacturing organization in Penang Malaysia is requires to have both

intrinsic and extrinsic motivation factors when they start to hire Generation Z into their workforce.
