Title Computer assisted English lessons in preschools / David Lim Teck Huat
Abstract With the many advances in computer technology and software today, more and more education centers are beginning to use the computers in the classrooms for the teaching of language to students. In addition to advances in the technology, there are also large improvements in terms of cost reduction and ease of use. In this study, two private preschools in the Klang Valley were selected to observe and document how they use computers in the teaching of English language in the classroom. The objective of this study was to research on the preparation carried out by the teachers before the start of the class, and also to discover the problems and challenges that they face in their implementation in using computers for their English language lessons. At the end of the study, the results are discussed and analyzed with references and comparisons to results from past researches as highlighted in the literature review. In discovering the problems and challenges faced by the teachers and the preschools, it is hoped that this information can be used as a guide to other preschools that are planning to use computers in their own classrooms.
