Abstract

Ever since 2012 the Government Policy of extending another five years of work has been implemented. There are people we meet who retire at sixty and they seem to look quite healthy even after retirement. This research is to find out the effects of employees who have the opportunity to work another five years from fifty-five to sixty. This chapter shows the methodology to be used and how the survey is conducted. Usually we will discuss the research purpose, research methods, the strategy, the instruments to be used, the population and the sampling, the collection of data, the data analysis plan and the procedure to be used within the time-frame. At the end of the study, discussions will be on data validity and reliability, the scope and the limitations that are apparent, and the summary. This paper is a study to discuss the hypothesis with regard to how employees are affected by the increase of five working years in employment. The perceived values of accepting the Government Policy of increase of five working years for those aged fifty-five to sixty years, and the personality characteristics of those being sampled. From the findings, it can be ascertained that the majority of respondents were neither happy nor unhappy with the extension of working another five years; they were basically indifferent although some were undecided as to whether their families were happy with them about the extension. The majority of respondents had a fair idea of when they wanted to retire and there were some who were not sure. Most of the people from Scudai, as this is a project on Scudai, Johor Bahru, seemed to be able to maintain their health to sustain them for working another five years.
