Abstract
|
According to the World Health Organization, stress is a significant problem of our times and affects both physical as well as the mental health of people. Stress is defined as a situation where the organism‘s homeostasis is threatened or the organism perceives a situation as threatening. Stress coping methods are the cognitive, behavioral and psychological efforts to deal with stress. This study was design to study the stress of working adults of contract equipment manufacturing industry in free trade zone, Penang. The objective of the study were to find out the common cause of stress so management can identify the root cause. The study also suggest best method which can be opted by human resource and facility department to strategize method to cope with stress. For collecting data, questionnaire method was adopted. 28 questions were used in the questionnaire for data collection. 145 working adult from four contract equipment manufacturing companies across Penang free trade zone were chosen as a sample for the study. This study concluded that majority of the working adult are feeling average stress and still able to manage their work life. Factor has been identified for better management in stress.
