Abstract
|
The purpose of the study is to the job satisfaction of health care professionals in public hospital of Perak State of Malaysia focusing on dietitians, catering officer and assistance catering officer. The hypothesis formed which tested on the correlations between the nine facets of job satisfaction namely pay, fringe benefits, rewards, supervision, co-worker, operating procedures, communications, promotion and nature of work with the overall job satisfaction. The results revealed that the nine variables did correlated significantly with the overall job satisfaction. The second hypothesis that the demographic characteristics does not correlate with the overall job satisfaction cannot be rejected due to the insignificant correlation found. Generally, the satisfaction rate over the current employment of the three groups of health care professionals was low; many of them fall under the group of ambivalence which means neither satisfied nor dissatisfied over their job. The research may contribute the input to the human resource management into improving job satisfaction for better job performance.
