Abstract
|
The aim of this study is to identify how the gender , age and length of teaching experience contributed to occupational stress among secondary school teachers. About 100 teachers from 6 secondary schools in the north-east district of Penang were involved .Questionnaire which contained six factors ,being work overload,Environmental Workplace, Emotional Exhaustion, Interpersonal Relationship, Personal Achievement and Personalization were sent out to collect data. A total of 18 hypotheses were made and tests carried out to verify them .Factor analysis, reliability analysis as well as regression analysis were used to tabulate the data. It was concluded that there is no significant difference in the level of stress for gender and the six factors among the secondary school teachers. There was a significant difference for the age and length of service with the six factors.
