Abstract
|
Most project evaluation is done based on situation and depends on the individual project manager’s initiative. There are no comprehensive factors used as a guide for managers and management to evaluate the success or failure of a project. There is a new project framework being proposed that can assist in the evaluation of factors to determine project success or failure in projects. However it is not known if this new framework is applicable in the Malaysian context.
The approach of this project research is to use an actual case project as the basis of this study. The empirical study proposed will make use descriptive statistics to validate the relationship of the framework factors in the project work. The grouping of these factors will be evaluated, analyse and verified to ascertain its practicality within the context of the project.
The results do point to the positive side of the relationship where the identified factor groups carry out a major role in ensuring the success of the project. The encouraging result of this study showed that factor groups related to project manager, team members, environment and organization play critical roles in ensuring project success.
