Abstract
|
The whole purpose of doing this research study was to investigate the factors that were affecting the job satisfaction among employees in cafes and fine dining restaurants in Ipoh City & Kuala Lumpur City. Among the restaurants that were included in this research study is Moven Peak Steamboat, 1919 Restaurant, Indulgence Wine & Dine and David‟s Diner which is situated in Ipoh City. Meanwhile, d‟Tandoor Restaurant and CoChine Restaurant & Bar SaVanh are located in Kuala Lumpur City. Data was collected through structured questionnaires.
The research study shows that factors such as salaries, promotions, working conditions and fairness significantly does affect job satisfaction among employees in cafes and fine dining. However, factors such as age and gender do not significantly affect the job satisfaction among employees in cafes and fine dining restaurants.
This research study is able to provide the management of restaurants with a better understanding of the factors which is keeping their employees unsatisfied about their job scope. The recommendations that are provided in the final chapter will be able to help restaurant managements and other researchers in understanding further about this study and further identify other issues that may arise.
