Abstract

The researcher is working as a Procurement Executive in MMHE (M) Sdn Bhd. The nature of the job function, to ensure the quality of material purchased for the construction is meet its spec and standard, by assigning the Third Party Source Inspection Agency, in various countries in all over the world. Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB) is a leading marine and heavy engineering services provider in Malaysia, focused primarily on the oil and gas sector. MMHE offer a wide spectrum of engineering and construction, marine conversion and marine repair services at two yards in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia. Over the span of 40 years. The objective of the topic is to study on SCM (Supply Chain Management Division) organization, focusing on the material handling process and its effectiveness from the purchasing point end consumer. The material handling process facing many challenges and difficulties in our organization, whereby during the hand over to end user, faced many issues such as damages, scratches, dents and wastages. As such the study is conduct throughout the overall process of proper and systematic material handling and its effectiveness to ensure the materials hand over to the end user in required manner and meet its standard.
