Title Study the factors affecting productivity in AZ company in Johor Bahru / Azaria Binti Attan
Abstract The aim of this research is to study the factors affecting the productivity of AZ Company in Johor Bahru.The objective is to provide information for the employer on the factors that affect its company’s productivit . Questionnaire survey method is applied to determine the factors affecting productivity and the respondents are the employees of AZ Company with at least two years of working experience with the company. 180 employees were selected and the questionnaires were distributed. The factors being studied are proactive employees, process improvement, advanced technology and effective communication.The results were analysed based on the mean, mode, median and standard deviations together with the reliability and hypothesis testing. From the analysis of results the findings show process improvement is the top factor that affects productivity and secondly, advanced technolog . Thirdly, is proactive employees and fourthly, effective communication. The independent sample T-test result showed there was no significant difference within the number of hours worked at a task and the variables tested except for the variable of process improvement. The Cronbach alpha is 0.92 which is on the high side. From the employee performance survey, process improvement was the most influencing factor affecting their productivity (34% ) followed by advanced technology (27%) .Based on the findings, AZ Company was recommended to adjust their policies such as forming cross-functional groups, QCC to identifying the gaps and areas for improvement continuously and give incentives to employees who give successful suggestions. Employees are encouraged to be proactive and the company is encouraged to introduce bottom-up communication.The company should also invest in the latest Computer –aided Design (CAD 2015 version to enhance its advanced manufacturing technology that yields better productivity and returns.
