Abstract
|
The objective of this study is to find the key factor influence competitiveness. Review of literatures had observed that the factors like quality, cost, delivery, flexibility and efficiency were influence competitiveness. Base on these indicators, the theoretical framework of competitiveness was proposed by researcher to conduct a questionnaire survey and collected data analysis. A questionnaire survey was conducted among electronics/electrical manufacturing firm in Malaysia. The collected data was analysis by used SPSS statistical tool and the correlation test showed that quality, cost, delivery, flexibility and efficiency were significant relationship to competitiveness. There are five suggested hypotheses tests was created to prove the above factors influence competitiveness. The hypotheses test result showed that quality, delivery, flexibility and efficiency were significant influence competitiveness in this generation. While cost was no significant influence competitiveness in this generation, the possibility is the manufacturers had minimized their operational cost in the bottom level to compete each other in current competitive market. If manufacturer continue reduce their cost may affect their profit and quality level or product reliability. The manufacturer has difficult to reduce their cost without affect other factor, the cost becomes no significant factor to influence competitiveness when customer put quality in first priority. Essentially the research findings give a guideline to manufacturers to think and improve their competitiveness effectively. The result of current research findings is concluded that the key factors influence competitiveness is changed compare to previous research findings from literature review, the keys factors possibility will change in future generation; the research work needs to be continued by researcher in their future study.
