Abstract Science subject become significant when Malaysia intends to become developed country in the year of 2020. The Malaysia government believe that through the Science subject able to form a group of young generation whose are innovation, creative, and able to fulfil the needs of the 21 century. To improve the students’ performance and achievement in Science is not an easy task, the educator facing a lot of problem to enhance the students’ performance in Science. The most significant challenge that facing by the educator is student cannot relate the science terms and concepts to their real life experience due to this problem, the students will lose their interest towards the subject. So this research would like to focus of implementing games-based learning approach in learning Science and the effects of using games-based approach in a group of primary school year five pupils. The findings in this study stated that the pupils able to understand and performance better in learning Science by using games- based approach because through the games- based learning, the respondents getting a lot of motivation, encouragement and engagement from other stakeholder such as teacher, government and family members. Besides that, improve pupils’ Science learning achievement, the games-based learning approach also enhance the pupils’ critical thinking skill and problem solving skill which are important for the pupils in future. Through this research, the researcher found that games-based learning approach is an effective approach to improve the students’ performance in learning.
