Abstract
|
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship of job satisfaction, work performance
and health under the impact of an on-going organizational change in work shift scheduling
change from 8-hour to 12-hour. The data collection method is by questionnaire with 5-point
Likert scale that directly involved from 40 operators by examined whether 12-hour shift have
differential impact on work related aspect. Further, hypotheses testing and data analysis will
be used to examine the changes in independent variables (job satisfaction and job
performance) over a period of time to dependent variable (preference of shift hour). Results
of regression analyses indicated that job performance was positively related to overall
preference on shift hour on 12-hour shifts (p <.01) but not job satisfaction. These results
suggest that 12-hour shifts did not improve satisfaction level among employees but have
significant influent on workers’ performance aspect as it improved operator’s month income
during initial new shift start-up period.
