The study of job satisfaction among the poultry farm's employees at CKM sendirian berhad / Khor Chin Lee

Abstract
|
This study investigated the job satisfaction among the poultry farm’s employees. The
objectives of this questionnaire survey were to identify the level of job satisfaction
according to different facets, to identify the ranking of job satisfaction according to
different facets, to identify relationship between genders and job satisfaction and to
identify what type of extrinsic motivations factors are preferred by the employees. 80
employees were randomly selected to participate in this survey. The results were
analysed by determines mean, mode, median and standard deviations according to the
nine facets. Reliability and hypotheses testing were conducted. The results showed that
the higher satisfaction was achieved for the nature of work followed by supervision. Coworkers satisfaction was ranked at third. Forth to sixth ranking were communication,
promotion and reward. The last three ranking of satisfaction were pay, benefits and
operating condition. The hypotheses testing results showed that no significant different
between male and female satisfaction in pay, promotion, supervision, fringe benefits,
contingent rewards, operating conditions, co-workers, nature of work, and
communication. From the reliable analysis, the overall Cronbach’s alpha was 0.867.
The recommendation from this study were salary adjustment every year for the
employees, increase annual leave, buy group insurance and give incentive trip to satisfy
employees pay and fringe benefits satisfaction. The operating conditions satisfaction
can be improved by employ more workers or using automation system to share the work
load. Biotechnology and close house system can be used to improve the farm condition.
