Abstract
|
This descriptive research project examined the effects of interactive whiteboard on students’ motivation in learning English as second language in Year 6 students in Taylor’s International School, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Twenty-four students from Year 6T of Taylor’s International School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia were observed during the second quarter of the school year, 2015. Lessons were presented to students to Year 6 students Data were collected using a Computer Attitude Questionnaire (CAQ) and face-to-face interview regarding their involvement and enjoyment with interactive whiteboard used in the class. Upon completion of data collection, the results are used to determine if interactive whiteboard is effective in enhancing students’ motivation in learning English as Second Language in Malaysian classrooms. Significant differences were noted in female students’ and male students’ motivation. Results show that the use of interactive whiteboard as instructional tool has beneficial effects on students’ motivation in classroom lessons. Suggestions for further research are stated as apart of the study results.
