Abstract
|
The aim of this study is to empirically investigate the relative effect of effectiveness of Information Technology (IT) on productivity.
Data collected from 51 manufacturing companies in Penang are used for analyzing the relationship between the research variables. Regression analyses are applied to examine the relative impacts of the independent variables (top management commitment, IT adoption, knowledge sharing, employee participation, and employee training) on IT effectiveness on productivity. According to the analysis results, it shows that all 5 factors are having significant positive relationship towards IT effectiveness on Productivity.
The construct of predictive model in this research reveals that IT adoption and knowledge sharing are having positive influence over the IT effectiveness in productivity. The model suggest that every unit increase of IT adoption and knowledge sharing, will deliver 0.485 and 0.394 of increment respectively in IT effectiveness on productivity. The predictive model constructed seek to benefits the manufacturing companies in Penang in improving productivity with the effectiveness of IT.
