Title The acceptance and the effectiveness of KPI assessment in CPTC / Chia Yee Ching
Abstract This paper aimed to study the level of acceptance and the effectiveness of the monthly KPI assessment in CPTC. Semi-structured interview was used as the research instrument to collect qualitative data aimed at answering the research questions framed in this paper. The results indicated that majority of the employees have a general understanding on the purpose of the KPI implementation in the organization and understood how they are being assessed. Majority of the employees have positive view but less than half of them support the monthly KPI assessment. Employees perceived competition among peers, KPI targets, and accuracy of assessment among challenges they faced during the KPI implementation. Majority of the suggested areas for improvement are concerning what is being assessed and how the assessment is being carried out. The findings of this study suggested that CPTC should improve on communication that ensure transparency in the KPI implementation so as to reinforce the acceptance that will strengthen the effectiveness of the KPI assessment through a better cooperation from the employees.
