A study on factors contributing to organisational competitiveness of garment industry in Thailand [with reference to Thailand Garment Fashion Limited (TGF)] / Yeoh Cheong Hean
Abstract
This research studies the factors that may contribute to the organisational competitiveness of garment manufacturing companies in Thailand. From the literature reviews, organisational leadership, teamwork, research and development, product differentiation, and government policy have been identified as potential factors (independent variables) which may contribute to organisational competitiveness. Surveys in the form of questionnaires have been carried out to collect the primary data. Data analysis was conducted using the statistical analysis. The results of the statistical analysis supported the hypotheses of all the five independent
variables with a positive relationship on organisational competitiveness. Based on the analytical results, recommendations are provided for management considerations to strengthen organisational competitiveness. Furthermore, guidelines are shared with garment manufacturing companies for them to take into consideration when defining business strategies in dealing with dynamic competitions. Additional ideas are also proposed to be included defining government policies in the efforts of supporting garment manufacturing companies to enhance their organisational competitiveness.
