Abstract
|
Toastmasters International (TI) is an international organization establishes 90 years ago to help their members to improve on their communication skills and leadership skills. Started in the United States and officially registered in the 1924, Toastmasters International has expanded to an international organization in 126 countries with more than 313,000 members in more than 14650 clubs worldwide. The organizations mission is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. Having a sufficiently long time to have improved the system so that members can fully and truly benefit from the program, TI can provide a self-learning system that will allow those sincerely making effort to improve worthwhile. The mentoring system of the more senior members to guide the newer members on the system has proven effective because it prepares a platform for them to practice. In most cases, there are no stage time of practice which causes the individual to be pushed into a situation to fumble due to lack of experience and exposure to public speaking. With the structured program of Toastmasters, one can improve the method of communication, at the same time gain stage time exposure and experience.
