Abstract
|
This paper intends to study how significant the three factors, namely, knowledge, attitude and practice of breastfeeding towards career women in Kota Bharu.Three suggested hypotheses were tested to know the relationship between the three factors towards career women. The study revealed that significant relationships were existed between knowledge and attitude towards breastfeeding among career women and relationship between attitude towards breastfeeding and practice of breastfeeding among career women is significant. Whereas, no significant relationship between knowledge and practice of breastfeeding among career women. Therefore, types of occupation of the employed women were associated with their knowledge and practice of breast feeding. In order to support breast feeding practice among the employed mothers, government and employers should provides adequate facilities at work place to encourage women to continue breast feeding practice when mothers return to work after confinement. With adequate support and facilities, mothers will be encouraged and motivated to continue beast feeding practice even if they are working.
