Title Identifying behavior intention on perceived values in a payment method - a case study on an adoption of RFID in the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur toll / Sing Su Yung
Abstract This study is to investigate the influential factors and behavior intention towards adoption of RFID in the AMPANG-KUALA LUMPUR Toll. The objectives of this study are to identify the influential factors such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived service quality that will affect user’s attitude towards using RFID as payment method in toll highway. A theoretical framework was constructed based on the independents variables and dependent variable. Sample size of 103 respondents were selected to participate in this study. The results were analysed based on the defined dimension. For the independent variable, the groups of dimensions used for measuring intention to use were: perceived values of Technology of Acceptance Model (TAM) – perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived service quality where the perceived service quality is an extended variable for Technology of Acceptance Model (TAM) in this study. As for dependent variable, the dimension used for bahavior measurement is intention to use RFID technology. Reliability and hypotheses testing were conducted. The result showed that there was a strong, positive correlation between perceived values of TAM and intention to use RFID technology in toll highway. Increase of perceived values of TAM were correlated with increases in affecting user’s attitude towards using RFID technology. The model were developed in this report is benefit to AMPANG-KUALA LUMPUR toll operator which is to provide recommendation for the changes based on the findings. Future researcher shall expand the current framework because the Multi-Lane Free-Flow (MLFF) implementation is a long term project. TAM must be reviewed in line with new developments in information technologies.
