Abstract
|
A transition of migrating from a legacy system to an information technology driven system – Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is underway across semiconductor industry. The purpose of this research paper is to evaluate and identify the Critical Success Factors for ERP system implementation in semiconductor manufacturing environment – Unisem (M) Berhad as case company in this study. A qualitative case study has been adapted in this research. Besides from reviewed the literature review, observation and open-ended interview are used as the data collection method and purposive sampling to sample the respondent. Due to time constraint, 10 respondents were selected and interviewed. The empirical study and findings revealed that top management support, effective communication, change management and project management is the most crucial and key critical success factors of ERP implementation in UNISEM that will lead the project implementation to success. At the conclusion part, value propositioning in ERP system implementation is included and explained, some recommendations focus on enhance project management skill and perform business process reengineering is proposed to the reader.
