Abstract
|
Tax system is an essential in a nation, it is an important source of income for a country. Similar to many other countries, Malaysia has implemented the Goods and Services Tax (GST) members since 1 April 2015. In the route of implementation, a number of issues pop-up here and there, in generally public was confused in product ranges which is subjected to GST, and process in declaring GST. This study was conducted to evaluate how effective the GST implementation through marketing mix. Five influential variables were proposed to examine their relationship with the effectiveness of GST implementation. Questionnaire was applied to obtain feedback from general public. Data collected was interpreted by Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Regression, Coefficient, Pearson Correlation, and ANOVA were used to test the data. All five variables were showed to have significant impacts on the effectiveness of GST implementation. From the result obtained, general public was satisfied towards GST implementation in term of promotion mix, place mix, and product mix. On another hand, the findings showed general public was dissatisfied towards GST implementation in term of process mix and people mix. This information was useful for Government to further understand the real concern faced by tax payers. The study also listed out the some limitations were encountered in the project. Lastly, a few of recommendations were proposed at the end of the research paper.
