Abstract There are many misconceptions in the current market that Islamic financial products and services are offered only to the Muslims. The fact is that Islamic financial institutions offers Islamic products and services to the public at large via ethical banking that promotes transparency to customers and eliminates interest in its business operations. Many customers are not aware of the authenticity and the benefits of using Islamic product and services unless they seek the rightful parties that are able to explain to them in simple terms. In light of this, this study aimed to explore the relationship between the benefits of Islamic credit card and its acceptance among the financial product users in Malaysia. In gathering the data to analyze the research objectives, a set of online questionnaire was used and distributed using the internet as the medium of platform. Based on the 200 feedbacks gathered, it was found that the benefits of Islamic credit card namely the ‘product features’, ‘Islamic credit card issuer’ and ‘religious satisfaction’ have a significant impact to the acceptance of Islamic credit card in Malaysia. In addition, the findings also concludes that the awareness of the Islamic credit card also have a strong relationship with the acceptance of the Islamic credit card. It can also be generalized that there is a relationship between the socio demographic profiles especially due to ‘marital status’, ‘ethnicity’, ‘education’ and ‘income level’. This research is envisaged to contribute to the knowledge of the existing theories and enhance the current practice of the Islamic finance in the relevant area. The result of this research would enhance management’s understanding of benefits of the Islamic credit card that may influence individuals to choose the Islamic credit card, as an alternative to conventional credit card. The findings would provide valuable insights and guidance not only for the financial players to promote their respective credit cards but also to the users as a whole in determining the best financial product that suits one personal and financial need. As a result, there may be an increased demand for Islamic products in the Islamic financial market. The findings may also provide the policy makers a valuable input in the respective related area for further improvement.
