Abstract
|
The purpose of this research study is to investigate how certain factors would correlate with employee’s intention to stay on with the Private Higher Learning Institutes (PHLI) in Malaysia. There are five suggested hypotheses were tested among the factors in relate to employee retention. Generally, the results of data collected from the designed questionnaire has support the formulated hypotheses. The study revealed that significant relationships were existed between employee retention and the five criterion variables i.e. salary and compensations, superior support, training and development, career advancement opportunities and interpersonal relationship. In this study, employee retention was also found to be positively related to all the five variables. More to the point, the findings indicated that superior support has a greater impact on employee retention in this research study. On top of that, the research seeks to enlighten the management on the appropriate human resource management practices to be enforced in the employee retention.
