Abstract
|
ICT usage is getting more and more popular in our daily life. This study is to investigate the factors affecting ICT usage among the students in Disted College. The research helps the management of the college to understand what are the factors affecting ICT usage among the students in Disted College so that they can educate the students to be more competitive in digital world today, what can the college do to encourage the students to use more ICT in their learning and to encourage self learning using ICT. After reviewing some literature, it was suggested that factor affecting ICT usage today can be grouped into four main categories being perception, efficacy, social influence and environmental influence. Therefore, four hypotheses were formulated to test the usage and the results of the collected data all support the hypotheses. This shows that there are significant relationships existed between these four factors and ICT usage. Result has also shown that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use with ( β = 0.772, p <0.01 ) is the factor most significantly affect ICT usage among the students. It is followed by self efficacy and social influence and finally environmental influence. This is because students in Disted College have prior experience or knowledge in ICT usage and their economic background is viable enough for them to own their own ICT, therefore additional environmental influence from college and lecturers will not significantly affect their ICT usage.
