|
Abstract
|
In today’s fast changing business world, human resources are the
greatest asset in an organization. However, a majority of the organizations
are facing problems such as high employee turnover due to conflicts in the
organization. Besides, many organizations have expanded their
businesses around the globe. One of the challenges is to ensure job
satisfaction in every employee with different personal characteristics.
The objective of this research paper is to identify the relationship
between the job satisfactions and personal characteristics, job
commitment and quality of leader-member exchange. The study is
conducted in a food manufacturing company called Macfood Services Sdn
Bhd. In this study, a survey questionnaire is used. The questionnaire is
divided into three parts to measure job satisfaction, leader-member
exchange and organizational commitment. The results of the study
confirmed that there are positive relationships between job satisfaction
and personal characteristics such as age, academic qualification, working
experience, gender and LMX-7. However, there is no significant
relationship between job commitment and job satisfaction.
