Abstract
|
Anxiety is one of the factors that could weaken the student's possibility of achieving success in ESL or EFL writing. As the psychological feelings of fear, anxiety, and worry makes the ESL / EFL writing process difficult as their focus is being interrupted. The arousal of such negative psychological experience in a second/foreign language writing is known as foreign language writing anxiety. Therefore, the underlying causes of ESL / EFL Anxiety need to be understood and curbed to ensure a smooth language writing process for ESL / EFL learners. This study aims to investigate the level, types, and causes of writing anxiety among the Chinese Independent Middle School Students, also understand the influence of ESL writing anxiety level on writing task performance.
