Abstract Vested outsourcing has emerged as one of the preferred global approach in service outsourcing. Data shown that organizations are switching from the traditional facilities management into the vested outsourcing model for an improved and sustainable business performance. This research study aims to investigate the determinants on successful vested outsourcing, relation and implication of vested outsourcing on process efficiency and lastly provide body of vested outsourcing knowledge on multinational manufacturers facilities management in Northern Region Malaysia. The dependent factors being the Successful Vested Outsourcing for multinational manufacturers in Penang and Kedah, Malaysia. The key independent variables identified in this research are Competency, Technology, Collaboration, Customer Service and Management Support. Also, the study examines the implication and relation of successful vested outsourcing towards the process efficiency in the organisations. An online survey was carried out upon multinational manufacturers and data from 65 respondents were analysed and interpreted with Statistical Package of Social Sciences Software (SPSS). A pilot test was also conducted prior to the full survey to examine the validity of the survey questions. The result from the analysis revealed that the all five independent variables were found statistically significant at 5% of significant level. Second, successful vested outsourcing was found in positive influence and relationship towards process efficiency in the organisation. Third, the managerial predictive model in the research concluded that Collaboration has the most positive impact on successful vested outsourcing, followed by Customer Service, Technology and Management Support. On the other hand, Competency has a moderate negative influence on the Successful Vested Outsourcing. Despite of limitations that encountered like sample size and geographical restrictions, this research has successfully met its objective defined. The concept of vested outsourcing which developed by Kate Vitasek was proven in the research analysis that strategic influencing factors like collaboration, customer service, technology, competency and management support are all crucial factor for a successfully vested outsourcing business model. Lastly, this research managed to relate the importance and relevance of vested outsourcing which is lacking in facilities management industry. It has added body of knowledge in vested outsourcing by providing meaningful data and insights to future vested outsourcing practitioners in facilities management in the context of multinational manufacturers in Malaysia.
