|
Abstract
|
High Speed Broadband (HSBB) which uses Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) and
Very-high-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) offers data rate of at least
10Mbps that is higher than the previous generation of networks. The purpose of
this study is to examine the factors influencing subscribers’ intention towards
adopting HSBB services with descriptive analysis as the guiding principle. Cross
sectional data were collected through a survey and analyzed by means of factor
analysis, correlation and quantitative analysis. The study is based on 87 usable
questionnaires. Findings show that major factors influencing the subscribers’
intention to adopt HSBB service in Malaysia are the cost, speed and reliability.
Cost was found as a key factor influences subscribers’ intention to adopt HSBB
services. In addition, implications and direction for future research are discussed
