Abstract
|
This study is focusing on various factors affect effectiveness of training and development programs in a manufacturing company, with intent to help company to seek for opportunity to improve training and development program by understanding the employee’s reaction and motivation towards production productivity performance. After conducting a number of literature review, it was found that the factors was affected training and development programs’ effectiveness in a manufacturing company which can be grouped into three (3) category: employee, company and trainer. A part of three categories, motivation is also considered one of important factors drive the respondents to react and action, hence, it is also included in this study. A questionnaire survey was carried with the employees who had attended training and development programs in pass three month. The quantitative method is used a widespread in the study. The results are indicates objective of training, motivation, trainer training skills, trainer interpersonal skills and trainer communication skills are key factors that affect effectiveness of training and development programs. Generally, the results are also indicates employees are motivated. Finally, training and development expenses were found a positive correlated with production productivity performance. After concluding all the findings, there are some suggestion and recommend to improve training and development programs in Flex Company. The entire project takes five months to complete.
