Abstract
|
This research is investigating the factors influencing consumers’ online shopping acceptance of clothing in Malaysia. It is in order to assist the company to make decision on whether its clothing can be launched and marketed at online marketplace in Malaysia. The factors are derived and further extended from Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), i.e. Factors of Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Trust, Perceived Risk, and Perceived Enjoyment. The consumers’ acceptance level of online shopping of clothing in Malaysia is determined by consumers’ future online purchase intention, i.e. consumers’ intention to do more shopping for clothing at online shopping sites in the next six months, consumers’ planning to purchase clothing at online shopping sites in the next six months, and consumers’ intention to continue purchase clothing from the same online retailer in the next six months. Based on the findings obtained, all factors identified are positively influencing the consumers’ online shopping acceptance of clothing except for Factor of Perceived Risk. The company has to increase the levels of favourable factors while reduce the level of unfavourable factor in order to increase the consumers’ future online purchase intention. As the consumers’ online shopping acceptance of clothing in Malaysia is fairly high, the company can decide to launch and market its clothing at the online marketplace in Malaysia.
