Abstract
|
This paper is aimed to study the job satisfaction level of production workers in PT.
Sunwood Timber Industries and the factors affecting the satisfaction level. The study
helps the company to understand the available options to increase the job satisfaction
level among its production workers in order to improve the productivity. After
reviewing several literatures, it was found that factors affecting job satisfaction could
be consisted of salary, benefit, nature of job, direct supervisor, job security, career
development and working environment. Based on these finding, the researcher has
suggested a theoretical framework for this study. A survey through questionnaire
was conducted within production workers of the company. The analysis of this study
is mostly focused on quantitative analysis which were aimed at finding the job
satisfaction level of the study group and the factors affecting the job satisfaction
level. The result of this study indicated that salary, career development and job
security are 3 decisive factors in affecting the job satisfaction level of production
workers in the company. The result also showed that the satisfaction level of the
production worker is in medium level only. In order to increase job satisfaction, the
company could consider focus on improving the salary, providing more career
development opportunities and job securities. About 4 months have been spent on
this research study which began in Aug 2011.
