Abstract
|
This study attempted to discover the factors which may impact on the users’ acceptance level of Engineering Data Management System (EDMS) in Malaysia Oil and Gas industry. The Technical Acceptance Model (TAM) and DeLone IS Success Model were adapted and used as a methodology to identify and predict the relationship of social and technical factors to the implementation of EDMS. Through the survey conducted, the independent variables,Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Perceived Usefulness (PU) and System Quality (SQ), were tested to discover their relationship with dependant variable, Users’ Acceptance Level (AL) of the EDMS.A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed to the engineers from ten different Oil and Gas companies in Malaysia. The data was then been analysed using SPSS software. Analyses conducted are reliability test, correlation analysis, linear regression, and multiple regressions. This study developed the model to identify relationships between the key social and technical factors and acceptance level of the EDMS, with the multi-variable analysis of the survey. As a result, it was identified that Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Perceived Usefulness (PU) and System Quality (SQ) have significant impact and related to the users’ Acceptance Level (AL) of the EDMS in Malaysia Oil and Gas industry. Limitation of the study and recommendations for future research were deliberated in this report as well.
