Title Study on the motivator factors and job satisfaction in Malaysia retail sector. / Ong Eng Kian.
Abstract The research on the factors that affect the motivation of employees in the Malaysian retail sector revealed a considerable relationship between the dependent and independent variables in the study. There was revealed a direct relationship between all the hygiene and motivator variables under study. However, the hygiene factors far outweighed the motivator factors in determining the degree of satisfaction of the retail employees in the Malaysian context. Specifically, salary was seen as the main hygiene factors with a percentage of more than 85%. Both regression and correlation analysis were conducted to gauge the strength and direction of the relationship given the model under review. The research also employed the use of SPSS as well as Excel Software to analyze and finally conclude on the findings. The study confirmed the set hypotheses, however, giving a raft of suggestions on how future researchers should approach the topic.
