Abstract
|
E-wallet mobile payment offers an alternative payment method for consumers but the receptiveness level is still low in Johor Bahru. The primary objective of this research is to understand the factors influencing the receptiveness of E-wallet mobile payment within the research area limited in Johor Bahru. It also measures the behaviour and attitude in adapting to E-wallet. This research will be useful for the business stakeholders and E-wallet providers to improve and expand their businesses. It is also helpful for individuals such as students to improve the knowledge of E-wallet which can possibly lead to further research.
The research was designed in the quantitative method using questionnaire which was sent to potential respondents who reside in Johor Bahru. Survey data from mobile payments users were used to test the proposed hypothesis and the model. The findings illustrate clearly that the adoption of mobile wallet among consumers in Johor Bahru is only at the beginning stages. It also shows that consumers in Johor Bahru express positive attitudes toward E-wallet. The research includes several findings which can benefit the stakeholders of E-wallet. Suggestions for future research were presented which includes the studying of different aspects in a mobile wallet, in addition to the consumer behaviours toward E-wallet in Johor Bahru.
