Abstract
|
In today’s globalized business competition, the basic element to define an organization's successes is no longer its status in industrial economy but is its position in knowledge economy. In order to stay competitive in the era of knowledge economy globally, the organization has to be able to successfully utilize its human resources strength. Human resource management therefore is one of the necessary needs of today’s business. Human resource department plays a very important role as administrator, as strategic planner, as advisor, as mediator and also as the key liaison between the organization and its employees. This research will provide the guidelines to human resource practitioners on the factors that influence Human Resource strategy’s development and its implementation in electronics manufacturing industries in Penang Industrial Zones. Data were collected by mail survey from 118 respondents that are currently working in electronics manufacturing industries across Penang Industrial Zones. Correlation and regression analysis of the data were done using SPSS to support the five independent variables in this study i.e. financial and economic factor, strengthening HR core competency factor, employee development programs, creating value to stakeholders (internal and external) and corporate decision factor.
