Abstract
|
Recruitment, as a human resource management function, is one of the activities that affect most critically on the performance of an organization. While it is understood and accepted that poor recruitment decisions continue to affect organizational performance and limit goal achievement. Two decades ago it was hypothesized that met expectations mediate the relationship between recruitment sources (internal vs. external) and Employee’s outcomes. This study tested the mediator hypothesis with company T employees and found that expectations do not mediate the relation between external recruitment source and both job satisfaction and organizational commitment. This study is carried out at Company T. 120 respondents are randomly chosen (using convenience-sampling method) from the overall 252 employees involving management team and admin staffs, technical specialists, and engineers. Many organizations have a perception that the external methods are a most effective and best source for new employees’ selection. This study recommends that possibly internal recruitment be utilized more effectively for new employee’s selection.
