Abstract
|
The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between principal’s transformational leadership and teachers’ collective efficacy. This study also analyses the significant influence of principal’s transformational leadership on teachers’ collective efficacy. Data from 86 teachers were collected from two secondary schools located in the Kanowit district. Pearson’s correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between the four dimension of principal’s transformational leadership and teachers’ collective efficacy. There were three dimensions (setting direction, redesigning the organization, and improving instructional program) for principal’s transformational leadership was significantly related to teachers’ collective efficacy while developing people has no relationship on teachers’ collective efficacy. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to analyse the influence of the four dimensions of principal’s transformational leadership towards teachers’ collective efficacy. The result shows that two dimensions (setting direction and developing people) of the principal’s transformational leadership significantly influence teachers’ collective efficacy while other two dimensions (redesigning the organization and improving instructional program) of principal’s transformational leadership have no significant influence on teachers’ collective efficacy.
